2020 was a year like no other.
Tor Theatre managed to put on 16 performances of 3 different Covid-safe shows.
We also branched out onto various digital platforms...
Windmill Hill - Life On Top Of The World
A film by Tor Theatre about Glastonbury’s best kept secret.
How many towns in the UK can boast of a world famous hill? Glastonbury can.
But Windmill Hill isn’t famous. In fact, if the hills of Glastonbury were to form a rock band, Windmill Hill would probably be the bass player: steady, functional, and more than happy to let its more glamorous bandmates hog the limelight.
Until now.
Tor Theatre’s new documentary lifts the lid on Glastonbury’s best kept secret, exploring the history, the community and the characters of this unsung area.
Life on top of the world!
This 70-minute film was made possible by Wassail Theatre’s ‘Connecting Communities’ initiative, funded by Arts Council England.
We didn't let 2020 be our Waterloo…
We didn't settle for Ooh Ahh Just A Little Bit!
We helped produce: SOFAVISION!
When Eurovision 2020 was cancelled, Tor Theatre, Viv Gordon Company and Strode Theatre didn't sit there thinking 'What's Another Year?' They joined together to produce Somerset's own live song contest!
Beaming straight into your living room via facebook on May the 16th 2020, SofaVision gained over 3,900 'views' and was deemed a roaring success. Sofavisionaries from all over the world watched as self-styled 'European 80s Synthpop Legends' Baked Alaska hosted an hour long show complete with 9 contestants, a live phone in and a public vote that wasn't rigged at all, honest.
Will SofaVision return?
Who knows...
